Plein air painting at Point Walter

Point Walter Jetty original plein air oil painting on aluminium by Ben Sherar

Now that the weather has warmed up a little here in Perth, Kiya Kalem and I took the opportunity to get a spot of  Plein air painting in at popular Point Walter in Melville. We got stuck in just before the weather turned, back to winter for a few hours it seems!

A great location for picnics, swimming and fishing with a cafe and playground to boot! The local name for this place is Dyoondalup and it has a rich history as a gathering point for families to relax and enjoy lazy afternoons. A favourite is walking out on “The Spit” sandbar into the middle of the Swan River (with a secret deep water place to the west being a great spot for local Mulloway fishermen).
